Seeing the jumbled mass of assorted, brightly-coloured costume jewelry lying at your feet on the floor, you felt like a queen surveying the priceless, pre-loved treasures of those worn before her reign.
With awe and wonderment, you intuitively and instinctively reached out for the long ropey strand of imitation pearls.
It instantly transformed you into someone regal, mature and beautifully powerful.
You were hooked.

Intuition guides your life, your style and the jewelry you wear
You have a subtle power of intuitive authentic connection that you may not even realize. In the same way you sensed an immediate kinship with your best friend the first moment you two met, the same intuitive pull beckons you towards certain pieces of jewelry.
Retiring from a background of law enforcement, I had to rely heavily on my intuitive power. At Strung Out On Pearls, I now have a wonderful new opportunity to creatively apply it.
The play of the shapes and different colours of the materials guide me towards making the final necklaces, bracelets and earrings you find in the Collections.
Hand-knotting as a metaphor for LIFE
In conversations with close friends, our talks inevitably turned to feelings of exhaustion and being "strung out" by life's competing responsibilities. Family, career, social commitments, children's extracurricular activities, carpool duties and the needs of aging parents all converge into our busy lives as modern women.
When I created the company, I chose to call it "STRUNG OUT ON PEARLS."
It perfectly captures how I like to envision my signature technique of hand-knotting to symbolize your confidence and resilience in successfully joining together all aspects of your life into a fun, harmonious and memorable union, despite the occasional feeling of being "strung out."

Retiring from a world of law enforcement where subterfuge and deception were encountered far too often, I believe in the importance of authenticity and integrity. I suspect that you value them too.

This is one of my favourite photos of us together.
Unfortunately, on May 15, 2023 I had to say my final tearful goodbye to this beloved Senior dog at SOOP. He was just 2 days shy of turning 15-1/2 years old... having been with me in the Bead Studio since the tender age of 7 months.
He was the inspiration of his own line of "Unconditional Love" (Rose Quartz and Jade) Paw-fect Pet Charms, only available through wholesale orders. As he aged, I designed the "Unconquerable" Charms, created to honour his stamina and continued zest to living until his final breath.
I and his SOOP Havanese siblings, Rebel Teddy and Diva Tia, mourn his passing, but we remain forever grateful to have had him in our lives.

For example, my white baroque pearls knotted into a necklace with large faceted red Garnets captivated a young mother-- it combined her birthstone with that of her first son, a January baby.
When a bride-to-be commissioned me to design a bracelet, she was delighted with the simplicity of the circle of white, pale silver and deeper dove grey pearls-- reflecting her confidence in the rich meaning of her wedding.
